Thanks for visiting InStyle Homes. I’m Rowan Guymer, the registered builder and owner of InStyle Homes Pty Ltd.

Building and design are more than a job to me—they are a genuine passion. Anyone who knows me will tell you that I always have a design or construction project underway. I’ve been fortunate to turn that passion into a career, and my clients benefit from having a highly motivated, hands-on builder personally involved from the early planning stages through to completion.

I remain actively involved on site throughout each project rather than handing the job over once the contract is signed. Clients sometimes joke that they are glad to see the back of me at handover—because I have been there nearly every day making sure the work is progressing properly and the details are being completed to the expected standard.

I have always been a practical and creative person, with a strong interest in architectural design, CAD modelling and visualisation. This allows me to help clients develop their ideas and work collaboratively with architects, building designers, engineers and interior designers to achieve a result that is both visually considered and practical to build.

Having purchased, remodelled and sold several homes of my own, I understand that a successful renovation must do more than look good. It needs to improve how the home functions—from the movement between rooms and the overall flow of the floor plan to storage, natural light, energy efficiency and the way the home supports everyday family life. Some of our most rewarding feedback comes from clients who tell us that their renovated house now functions like a completely new home.

I regularly use CAD and 3D modelling throughout construction to resolve details before they become problems on site. Whether I am working through a kitchen layout, structural-steel connection, deck design, room configuration or custom building detail, modelling allows me to check dimensions carefully, coordinate trades and confidently order expensive products before installation. Combined with broad hands-on building and carpentry experience, this helps us get important details right the first time, maintain progress and minimise unnecessary disruption.

My role is not to replace the architect or building designer responsible for your plans. Instead, I see construction as a collaborative process. Initial drawings cannot always capture every junction, finish or practical consideration that will arise during a complex renovation. A good builder identifies those details early, communicates the options clearly and works with the client and design team to resolve them properly.

Ultimately, my goal is to deliver a home that looks considered, functions properly and adds genuine value—not a renovation that leaves you saying, “I wish someone had mentioned that earlier.”
